Canal living on Al Reem
Oceanscape stands on Shams Abu Dhabi, the master development on Al Reem Island, with its frontage on the man-made canal. DAMAC arranged it in three tiers: townhouses at the base, apartments in the curving towers above, and boutique units at street level. A podium ties the towers together and carries three floors of shops, cafés and everyday essentials, so the building supports itself rather than sending residents off the island for basics. The developer's records date completion to 31 May 2013.
The homes were planned around light and outlook, with wide windows, deep balconies and canal views from most aspects. Residents are looked after by a concierge and a resident-services desk off the grand lobby the developer describes, which is closer to the way a serviced building runs than a standard Abu Dhabi block. Reem Mall and Reem Central Park are on the same island, while Al Wahda Mall, Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre and Burjeel Hospital lie across the bridge in the city. The developer puts Abu Dhabi International Airport at roughly 16 minutes by car.
This is a completed Abu Dhabi building rather than a Dubai launch, and it has been lived in for more than a decade. Buyers are mostly dealing with resale from private owners; where DAMAC still holds units, the agreement is signed with the developer. Wincasa establishes which apartments, townhouses or retail units are actually offered, arranges inspections, and takes buyers through the registration process that applies in Abu Dhabi.
